Women's tennis splits set of weekend matches |

GW Women’s tennis went 1-1 in its opening weekend of A-10 play to earn a 2-2 record overall.
The set of road matched included a 4-3 loss to Xavier on Saturday with a 5-2 victory at Drexel on Sunday.
Xavier took four of six singles matches, despite Isabella Escobar and Leah Pascarella’s wins over Lizzie Oosterbaan and Daniella Patton.
Pascarella and Escobar teamed up to take one of GW’s two doubles victories. Jacqueline Corba and Lorena Valente grabbed the other doubles win for the Colonials.
Corba, Meg Tyner, and Mimi Hamling came out the next day to take singles wins over Drexel. Hamling and Zoe Krohn teamed up to snatch the first doubles win while Corba and Valente nabbed the second.

The Colonials fell 73-66 to the St. Joseph’s University Hawks on Saturday at the Smith Center despite two late-game runs and outscoring their opponent in the second half.
